...Let's Make It Happen

Northeast Automation designs, manufactures, and integrates computer-assisted positioning devices (also known as Stewart Platforms) that help give your company a leading edge over companies operating with conventional machinery or robotics.

We work with clients to conceptualize and design industry-leading equipment that helps customers quickly and efficiently meet daunting challenges – from design to implementation.

With many pieces of custom equipment in the field today, Northeast Automation arms defense, automotive, semiconductor, space, and communications companies with fast, efficient, and accurate performance – providing significant cost improvements over conventional technology.

Key Benefits:

* Impressive range of motion to achieve superior accuracy, stability, and repeatability.
* Flexibility that dramatically improves productivity.
* Tight integration allows efficient transition to handle multiple product lines.
* Flexible tool reusability for repurposing across multiple product lines.
* Significant performance and cost improvements over conventional technologies.

Equipment Manufacturing:

Acid dip machines

Custom system designed for Lucent Technologies, this machine is an automated, four-station acid dip for cleaning fiber optic cables. With four stations, it has individual closed loop linear motion for precisely controlling the depth to which the cables were dipped in the acid. Also, it has dual redundant closed loop temperature control circuits for maintaining sulfuric acid at a process temperature of about 300°F.

Particle Accelerator and Implanter

Custom application designed, built, and integrated by Levanta TI, this machine is used to accelerate hydrogen ions and to impact them into a target silicon wafer. These ions then quickly steal an electron from the substrate wafer and bond diatomically. The layer of hydrogen molecules is precisely controlled to their aspect of depth penetration, resulting in a highly uniform, very thin cleavable edge.  This layer of hydrogen molecules is subsequently used as a cleave point for separating a donor wafer, resulting in a Silicon On Insulator (SOI) wafer for semiconductor applications.

Other

An alternative method to the electroless plater, this machine uses a process called sputtering, which causes the transfer of metals through a vacuum utilizing the conductive properties of an inert gas plasma. Although a higher initial cost, this method has no waste water, no heavy metal contamination, and no environmental impact, which the less-expensive plating machine does.
